Statement

I

am an American artist best known for creating large to medium format

mixed media figurative but not photo realistic paintings.

My

work is a mixture of very planned and controlled lines or shapes with

a loose brush experimentation.

I

often work on wood board attaching objects to the piece like stings,

pulleys, figures, etc...

The

process starts with a black background and once I start painting I

use a sharp tool to scratch the oil and let the dark lines

participate in making it look more like a drawing.

My

influences vary from life experiences, my many passions including

artistic theater, art performances, social and community issues as

well the visions and ramblings of my own consciousness.

In

a world dominated by technology and consumerism I wish to provide an

oasis of an alternative reality that has been created up-close and

personal by the hand of the artist, that is my vision.

My

paintings look at the contrast between life and death, reality and

memory, the physical vs the spiritual, the concrete and the

ethereal.

I

try not to tell the obvious description of my motive but to leave

some space for the viewers own imagination to participate on the

work.

Whether

that is a pleasant memory like a perfume, a song that triggers an

image, or a feeling of curiosity it is up to the viewer to just

glance or immerse themselves in the creative proc
