Captured an image of a great egret gliding over water and descending on the shore of a lake. I employed more unconventional photography techniques, including camera motion, slow shutter speed, manual focusing, with adapted older legacy lenses on a modern digital mirrorless camera. By purposely distorting what is usually seen, my image invites the viewer's imagination, creativity, and mystery. My hope is that these unexpected photos ask the viewer to look closer and use their imagination, make meaning of what they are seeing, exploring ideas and feelings related to beauty, faith, freedom, release, and peace.
