Statement

Trees provide oxygen, water, nutrients, shelter, records of past climates, and a bridge from Earth to sky upon which to dream. As a geoscientist and visual artist, I convey knowledge about environment-human relationships through sculpture This tree sculpture contains recycled paper and discarded metal was used to build the trunk and base. It depicts the evolution of knowledge from images to words to symbols and music and is shaped after the weeping beech tree, providing umbrella-shaped canopies under which to rest and reflect.
